SIDNEY & IDA DARBY                         BAND CALLED "TOWN & COUNTRY"

Born in 1958 in Great Barr, Birmingham, I was 12 when my father bought me my first organ. After teaching myself to play, I started performing for Ballroom Dancing at 16, and at 18 played in a five piece dance band called Town & Country. I then became part of a duo with drummer Mike Hewett before becoming resident organist for the Aquarius Ballrooms in Hednesford, where I still appear.

In recent years I have become a popular figure on the Ballroom and Sequence dance circuit, gaining a dedicated following with my up beat and enthusiastic style, for which I am known as 'Mr Music'. I put my current success firmly down to the support from my dance teacher wife, Denise
